Requiem for a Mosquito

(written at 5 a.m. this morning)

Drone, drone, drone!
Vile thing flew through our window;
Took away my sleep.

Drone, drone, drone!
I have to work tomorrow.
Don't you ever sleep?

Drone, drone, drone!
Thwack! My slipper hits the wall.
Now you're just a stain.
